Creating VSS snapshot Error : Shadow copies commit Code 0x80042306

Q:

I would like to inquire whether separate settings are needed in VSS to back up the entire 108TB machine. I wonder if VSS is an essential element to perform a snapshot in VEEAM. If it is difficult to perform a full Snapshot of a 108TB machine, is there another way?

Thank you for contacting Veeam Technical Support. My name is Reuben and I'll be assisting with this case.

Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows utilises VSS shadow copies as the source for all backup jobs.

As the Microsoft VSS software provider has a 64 TB limit implemented by Microsoft, it cannot be used for any volumes greater than 64 TB.

In some environments, the hardware VSS provider can be used as the backup source:https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/storage_snapshots_great.html?ver=120
